Thanksgiving is here never fear!

So, next week is Thanksgiving. How are you getting ready for it? We are harvesting our carrots today, ( thank you Jessica Lyons), and are using Aleia's Savory stuffing mix and making lovely yummy treats! This and any holiday is challenging to those of us that eat Gluten, dairy, soy and sugar free, but it can be done. We lack nothing in flavor and even have stellar meals that others may envy. If you are not a make it all yourself person, look around at different offerings that have few ingredients on the labels. The less processed, the less ingredients and the less " ose" ingredients the better.
If you are stumped at a dessert try this:
core and create a well in a granny smith apple.
mix together a teaspoon of pure date sugar with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, roughly 1/4 teaspoon each. Mix this spices sugar with some pecans or walnuts. Fancy way is toasted, if like me, just chopped up is fine. stuff apple with this mix, dot with coconut butter or if allergic use palm oil and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Drizzle with a little raw honey and viola , a lovely dessert.
For those that are not dairy free you can use butter, clean and grass fed is best. I used to use goats milk butter but my family didn't like the twang to it.
There are so many wonderful things that can be made and it can be so fun playing with different ingredients. Enjoy! This is a time to be thankful and enjoy all the good things in life! Have fun!
