Last Friday night was filled with music, frenetic energy, Moms, Dads, kids, lots of games and education with ducks! Yes, ducks! We had question and answers on how to prevent Lyme and we had lots of fun doing it! It is so easy to get caught up in the bad news of a disease and all that entails. This event and others like it brings me great joy because it shows me that if we know what to do, we can do it and have fun!
I think we forget sometimes how important laughter and fun is in our lives. Playtime is essential for our minds and our bodies. I mention that in my book “Embracing Healing” and on May 7th, (Saturday), at 10:30 my friend Marianna and I are going to start a class focusing on just that point.
It is very important to me to let people know that 50 minutes broken up in the day for things like coloring, wiggling, giggling and finding some playtime helps to restore a better mood, clear the mind and energize the neurons of the brain and have creativity flow back from a mind and body slogged down with have to ‘s and over multi-tasking.
The benefit of this is being calmer, being more focused and just being able to smile. It helps to strengthen the heart and lower blood pressure. It gets the gut flowing better and stimulates your muscles. Oxygen will flow better in your body. That is just Groovy baby!
So, come join myself and my friend, Wellness Advocate Marianna Erickson for a fun and groovy day on Saturday, May 7th at 10:30 am. Class will last until 1:00 pm.
I hope you can join us, but if not infuse some play in your lives and laugh. Joy is good for you!
